Zinc Phosphate (Zn₃(PO₄)₂) is a white, insoluble inorganic pigment that forms a protective barrier on metal surfaces. It is the most widely used non-toxic anticorrosive pigment in the paints and coatings industry, having largely replaced hazardous lead- and chromate-based alternatives. It is produced by reacting phosphoric acid or zinc oxide/zinc sulfate with phosphate sources.
