Zinc Bromide (ZnBr₂) is an inorganic zinc halide salt functioning as a strong Lewis acid. It is highly hygroscopic, very soluble in water and polar organic solvents, and is typically produced by dissolving zinc carbonate or zinc oxide in hydrobromic acid. It's widely used as a catalyst in organic synthesis and as a dense, transparent brine solution in specialized industrial fluids.
